A book draws from popular culture, history, science, and literature to create a strong vision for a future in which old age becomes a healing force in our society: "WHAT ARE OLD PEOPLE FOR? How Elders Will Save the World" by William H. Thomas, M.D.
The journal Human Relations was founded in 1947 by the Tavistock Institute and the Research Center for Group Dynamics in the belief that social scientists should work together to combine their disciplinary knowledge in an attempt to understand the character and complexity of human problems. The journal has long recognized that no single discipline or research method could provide a solution to questions pertaining to relations between people, work groups and their organizations. Therefore, Human Relations has sought to establish a dialogue between scholars of different disciplinary backgrounds who seek to advance our knowledge of social relationships at and around work. “I recently met a Holocaust survivor at the signing of his new book, where he shared his life and trials of War. He recently realized that he had Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) and that he had advise for young soldiers as they returned home. He decided it was time for him to share with the younger generation that war was cruel 60 years ago when he was six years old. He shared through tears and laughter how his life was a living hell~! The returning veterans in the room were crying and realizing that life could move forward”, Kendall Brune PhD, MBA, LNHA, a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Administrators, a member of AIHRA Advisory Board.
